Day 365 - Falling in Love

"But whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him."
1 John 2:5, ESV

"If a man vows a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth."
Numbers 30:2, ESV

When you fall in love for the first time, don't in autumn. When the mountain bedecks herself in gaudy golds, tawdry reds, and sumptuous oranges on an emerald gown, when the sky is a brilliant azure, and the air so crisp it bites like a tangy summer apple.

Don't fall in love at Christmas either. When strings of light glitter against the snow, the pumpkin pie melts in your mouth and mittens hold hands, when families laugh and touch, and belonging snuggles into your loneliness at last.

But absolutely, positively, definitely don't fall in love when you've made a vow to that sovereign, uncompromising and unquestionable Myth that you won't accept any other but His Perfect and Divine Love, when you say that 365 declarations of devotion to Him must first go by before you open your eyes and heart to the unholy wanting of another.

When you fall in love for the first time, don't set the bar too high. You're just a normal girl loving a normal guy and nobody has the right to demand that you answer why...not even you.

Only do this: Follow your heart.

Never, never try to teach it a lesson in love; it will always teach you.
